Glen Ridge

Incorporated in 1895 after its secession from Bloomfield, the area of Glen Ridge was the first settled in the late 17th century. It derives its name from the mountain ridge and the glen containing Toney's Brook. The Glen, and undeveloped area of land owned by the municipality, provides open space for walking and other activities. Freeman Gardens provides a lovely sanctuary of rose gardens. There are several parks with sports fields & playgrounds.
